CW FOR NEW 9M2
Intro : People who know CW are special and different from many other hams in the thinking, attitudes and ability. Passing a driving license without driving the car will not provide any skill enhancement. You need to use it everyday to gain the skill. Since we are not professional, we tend to make mistakes. Don't be scared of making errors. I have written on CW procedures several time. I would advise you to refer to IARU's manual which I have pasted it in my web page.
1. Calling CQ - CQ CQ CQ CQ CQ CQ DE 9M2XXX 9M2XXX 9M2XXX K
CQ CQ CQ CQ CQ CQ DE 9M2XXX 9M2XXX 9M2XXX PSE K  Pse - Please

2. Call to break in when 2 or 3 stations are in CW sessions. Usually we don't do this except when we need to inform any emergency cases. But among local friends we call for break to join in. To do this press BK . I think once will do. When you press BK, the station transmitting will will say QRZ ? Then you give your full call sign like 9M2XXX BK .

3. Let us repeat process 1; 9M2XXX is calling CQ . After he press K he might hear something like this

9M2XXX de JA2AUI or just JA2AUI

Your next step is

JA2AUI DE 9M2XXX - GE OM TNX FOR COMING BCK TO MICALL - UR RST IS 599 5NN OP MAN MAN MAN QTH IS KUANTAN KUANTAN KUANTAN HOW CPY ? K

10 M (10 METERS HIGH)- buro (bUREAU) - VAA is usually used to indicate end of the session with him. You don't have to use it. And most hams used E E to finalised the closing of the contact.

In our local QSO we do not use the short forms all the time. We used the plain language to rag chew. At time we use short form like HRP for Harap. There is one new short that we invent BTU to mean back to you which is of course not a must to use. You can also monitor to international rag chew, mostly in plain language too but they are fast. There are DX stations that call a 5wpm CW. You can contact these stations.

Most of new hams can send fast but cannot copy the same speed as they can send. You are advised to send at the speed which you can copy. When you come on CW you don't entertain those who might say bad things about you. You don't bow to XXXX people.

Enjoy the fun, the real fun of ham radio.
