THE GUTS |

| We should appreciate people with guts and determinations. Recently I read in my old school's web page a student from the 'Aliran Kemahiran' wrote a message to his friends in English. I would like to quote it here | ||

how are you. so good luck you test spm The student who wrote the sentences above is not like those who scores straight As. Aliran Kemahiran commonly composes of people who do not perform well in their PMR. 90% of the school time is for practical work. A few basic academic lessons are taught. In schools where technical, vocational and skill steams are held, the top will be the technical and the skill one is most frowned. How would you rate the messages above ? Coming from a skill's stream I was a bit surprise and elate. He has enough confidence in himself. He has the courage and determination. I am sure he will bloom to be a very successful person. On the radio I have heard a person talking broken English, mix ed it with other lingo too. I was very happy to hear him putting an effort to express himself. He dared and had guts to come on though he knew he is not an English educated person. A very smart, wealthy and powerful person could be a very useless and we would hate to hear his name. He could be so busy meeting high ranking people and making money that he might have no time to attend to his father's funeral. He just signed a big check and sent home to his mother for the funeral. To most of us even a ten million dollar check means nothing when filial piety is not there. One of the problems with us is that we already surrendered even before trying. I always heard from the NASA TV "...We go to the moon not because it is easy but because it is hard..." That is a symbol to mean human being must face challenges, go after them and make a conquest. With guts and determination it will lead us to successes. Of course there are barriers in front of us. Go and break them. School children must not be shy to converse in English or any other languages for that matter. No matter how much you speak those languages you will not be Englishman nor will it change your religion or skin. We do so because it is a tool for our living, one of the keys that we accumulated which can be used to open a door to successful communication in businesses. We
don't ever laugh at any mistake. We help to correct it and give more the
speakers more encouragement. |
