Jogja or Jogjakarta, located in central part of Java island, is an ancient land of towering volcanoes and swift-flowing rivers. Jogjakarta is an interesting city well-known as the cultural garden of Java. Where else in the world can you drive from edge of an active volcano to the beach in an hour ? Sure you can do this starting your drive from Jogjakarta to the mount Merapi or to the Parangtritis beach in an hour.

The festival will be held at Kaliurang located 25 km to the south of Jogjakata, very close to the mount Merapi. Kaliurang is a resort  with a very nice tropical climate. Besides food, fun and several forums, there will be swap tables and vendors for buying, selling and trading of amateur radio equipments. The festival has authentic Indonesian food and live music. Food are available for purchase however. Three days activities have been arranged to facilitate the creation of  a public space designed to be fun and enjoyable for the amateurs.

The thriathlon, a contest consisting of three different events, is designed during the field day for amateur radio operators to track hidden transmitters, to setup and operate portable stations as well as to send and receive morse code. The triathlon mobile fox-hunting will be a real test of skill but it is also a contest for fun, socializing, and the largest on-air operating event. The mobile fox-hunting will be done down the city of Jogjakarta, tracking the hidden transmitters, and will end at Imogiri - the royal tomb.

Forums are available for everybody who would like to learn things such as how to setup a radio station, how to play with microcontroller and how to choose antenna. Some old timers will share their knowleges and experiences. The forums are free of charge.

Saptohoedojo award is issued in recognition of the presistence, meritorious dedication, and lifetime achievement of amateurs who have been licensed continuously for 15 years and up. This is a unique award for the old timers. Besides certificate and medal, eye ball QSO among old timers would be quite memorable as well. They could meet friends and share the joy, sorrow and experiences of this hobby.
